This week we focus on the importance of building and maintaining relationships with peers for your child. At OnlineVPK, we understand that many children are missing that need while learning at home, so we have created virtual learning experiences for groups of students! Click the link below to get started!
Play the song for your child, then ask them to remember as many items as they can that start with the letter L! Replay the song and see if they can name more the second time!
Estimated Time: 15-20 Minutes
Hunt around your neighborhood for leaves your child would like use for this activity, and then follow the instructions below!
Estimated Time: 30-40 Minutes
After collecting leaves, have your child sort them into the following categories: Big vs Small, by Colors, and by Shape. You can use bins or boxes to sort the leaves!
Estimated Time: 20-30 Minutes
Listen to the video, then have your child practice writing the number 14 in their notebook.
Bonus: Write the world fourteen for your child and have them write it below yours!
Estimated Time: 10-15 Minutes
Let's review the seasons of the year! After watching the video, ask your child what season we are currently in. If they are unsure, give them a hint!
Estimated Time: 5-10 Minutes
It is so important to continue to reinforce new concepts, so this worksheet (includes the letter L!) will help your child with identifying lowercase letters and matching them to their uppercase counterparts.
Estimated Time: 10-15 Minutes
Have your child listen to the song, then go around your home looking for items that are in the shape of a rhombus.
Estimated Time: 20 Minutes
Gather some old magazines and a pair of scissors for this interactive activity. Have your child cut out different colored "leaves" in the shapes of rhombuses for their tree and then find a page with a lot of brown for them to cut out the tree trunk. Click below for a great example!
Estimated Time: 30-45 Minutes
This is a fun worksheet that should be easy for your child. Have them trace the shapes and then color them in different colors. Bonus points if they cut them out!
Estimated Time: 15-25 Minutes
Play the story and song for your child. Make sure to point out the words shown on the screen.
Then, play the story and song once more and pause at the end when the words come on the screen. Help your child sound out the words. It is okay if they are unable to fully sound out the words - we are introducing them to reading!
Estimated Time: 15 Minutes
This is an exciting activity to help your child develop those fine-motor skills. You can keep to the theme of the week and follow the example below or get creative and q-tip paint something else!
Estimated Time: 20-30 Minutes
This is a medium difficulty worksheet with several parts. Have patience with your child and know that it may take longer to complete.
Estimated Time: 15-30 Minutes
Play the song for your child, then ask them to remember as many items as they can that start with the letter L! Replay the song and see if they can name more the second time!
Estimated Time: 15-20 Minutes
As an introduction to addition, have your child complete this math worksheet to review counting!
Estimated Time: 10-20 Minutes
Let's continue to reinforce your child's cutting skills through a worksheet that reinforces the concept of "before". Lay out the number line created in the previous weeks for added help!
