This week we focus on the importance of setting up routines for a preschool child. Make sure you set a routine and stick to it! At school, we set routines with pictures and times. Something like this can help you at home:
Play the song for your child, then ask them to remember as many items as they can that start with the letter F! Replay the song and see if they can name more the second time!
Estimated Time: 15-20 Minutes
Follow along with the story and ask your child questions during and after to check their understanding.
Estimated Time: 10-15 Minutes
Keep this original assessment. This will help you track your child's progress during the first couple weeks of class. If your child cannot complete the assessment with ease, you will need to dedicate additional time for review.
Estimated Time: 20-30 Minutes
Listen to the song, then have your child count to 10 with their own hands, then have them count to 10 with your hands! If this is easy for them, have them count objects around the house.
Estimated Time: 10-15 Minutes
Using Recyclable Materials - Paper Plates, Newspaper, etc. - create Chester the Raccoon from The Kissing Hand.
Estimated Time: 20 Minutes
